Suriname - 2012 Central Bank 55th Anniversary Commemorative

I do not have that many banknotes from Suriname but getting the only commemorative note issued by this country is very satisfying. This note was presumably issued in 2012 to celebrate the country's central bank's 55th Anniversary 1957-2012 (Centrale Bank van Suriname) and is printed with the date of 1.4.2012, which is also the anniversary date of the bank. The design on the front is similar to the current $50 note but with the commemorative 55 Jaar logo and text added to the left hand side of the note. On the back, instead of the Kapok tree and the rocks formation (Kasi Kasima) design, it depicts a group of men in meeting. On the left, it listed all the bank's Presidents in office since 1957 (six in total). On the right is a statement about the central bank's primary function in English. The official language of Suriname is Dutch but the folder that comes with this note is printed all in English which is also wisely spoken in the country. The original currency of Suriname since independence was called Gulden/Guilder (SRG) but on the 1.1.2004 it changed to Dollar (SRD) (One dollar = 1000 guilders). This commemorative note is printed with the prefix of CB (Central Bank). Each note is issued with Certificate of Authenticity and this note is numbered 25172. Only 50,000 sets printed by Giesecke & Devrient. With a population of just under 600,000 people, this is quite a lot. The issue price was 5 time it's face value (SRD$250). Obviously it is unlikely that you will ever see any of these notes circulating in the public as payments for goods and services.
