Another 50 pesos given to me by a collector friend as gift some years ago.
The note features the portrait of Calixto Garcia Iniguez, who was a Cuban general that involved in all three Cuban wars that formed part of the Cuban War of Independence, the ten Year War and the Little War. He died young, in the United States at the aged of 59 years old, in 1898.
On the back is the Centro de Ingenieria Genetica y Biotecndogia (Center for genetic engineering and biotechnology). This center is located west of Havana.
