Here is a single note of 20 pesos convertibles dated 2008, I have in my collection. The peso convertible was pegged to the United States dollar at par and on 01.01.2021, all businesses in Cuba ceased accepting them as as currency. The peso convertible will be demonetised by the end of June 2021. To the local, the peso convertible is also known as 'cuc' or a 'chavito'.
On the front of the note, it depicts the monument of Camilo Cienfuegos, which is located in Havana. Cienfuegos was born in Havana in 1932 and died in 1959, age 27. He was a Cuban revolutionary and died in a plane crash when flying over the Straits of Florida. On the back, it features medical professionals at work, building, a van and part of an air plane on the background.
